Supporting Preschool Inclusion Through Embedded Instruction for Early Learning
A FREE preconference session with Dr. Patricia Snyder at the 2018 SCCEC Conference.
Dr. Patricia Snyder, Director for the Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies, has been examining the use of embedded instruction to support young children's development and learning in inclusive environments for more than 25 years. Embedded instruction is an evidence-based approach that promotes child engagement and learning in everyday activities, routines, and transitions.
This workshop will introduce the four key components of embedded instruction and the practices associated with each component. Participants will experience examples of these practices being implemented in preschool classrooms through the use of video, case examples, and interactive application activities. Resources to support back-home implementation will also be provided!
